Sensory Labyrinth in Tibanesti

FR  / RO

The last Sensory Labyrinth took place between August 2 and 7, 2016 in an exceptional place located in Tibanesti – Iasi at Petre P.Carp’s manor that was built in the 18th century. It was a new Artees project in cooperation with Pro Patriomonio and the Maria Association. During the session, Pro Patrimonio in cooperation with an international volunteer workteam actually participated in the in situ restoration of the manor. The young actors, children aged 7 to 12, prepared the Sensory Labyrinth performance, guided by Ioana Violet, artist and art-therapist.
The Labyrinth space proved to be a place for learning like on other occasions, through an atelier of creation (masks and costumes, theatrical and sensory sessions). During the experimentations, the children could also watch how the crafts were actually used in construction or restoration. In the end, they were the protagonists of a « performance » attended by more than 50 people.

The visitors included the members of the international team, parents and friends of the children. Each visitor was blindfolded and guided through the labyrinth by a young member of the labyrinth team. At the end, the participants could share the unique perceptions they had during the experiment. We would like to thank everybody for participating.
We are very grateful to Pro Patriomonio and the Maria Association for making this study possible. We would also like to thank the participating students and teachers of the « Petre P. Carp » college of Tibanesti and greet the ll the visitors of the labyrinth.
